It always behaved like that in the past, through several PC and Windows iterations. The RAW folder has >1,000 files inside that folder.
#PICTURE VIEWER 70S LITTLE DISC WINDOWS 10#
I tried this with RAW and JPG files on my Windows 10 PC and I am not seeing the same thing. Lets say a folder of 1000 jpges in full-Hd from a security camera.

Im speaking of small low-end jpegs, not raw. When I doubleclick into that fullscreen, then FS goes to the thumbnail mode, and right there the freez happens. Then FS will open it in fullscreen mode instantly. Are you actually using Windows Explorer or are you talking about the built-in explorer inside Faststone? When I doubleclick a picture in the Windows Explorer, I don't know if that has any relevance to this discussion. NOTE: I just upgraded to a computer that has a solid-state-drive as its main drive. So I don't see the same thing you are seeing.Ĭan you explain a way to replicate what you are doing? It shuffled through previews pretty quickly.Īnd I was able to change folders and even select and start opening a pictures file while it was chugging away.

NOTE: New files never opened by Faststone before. I opened a folder with >1,000 RAW files in it. I just tried out my installation of Faststone. sometimes up to a minute or so.Īnyone know a good (and free) alternative? What really annoys me about it: it becomes unresponsive when you open a picture in folder that has lots of pictures in it. Sometimes I use its batch-processing features and to remove exif data from images. I using Faststone for quiet a while for quickly opening and browsing through pictures.
